Privacy Policy

Summary
Baby Forward LLC ("Baby Forward," "we") collects the information needed to run a local marketplace: your account details, your listings, your messages, and records of your transactions. We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads. Card and bank details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe, not stored by us.
1. Information we collect

Payment and identity details. When you pay, Stripe collects your card or bank information. When you connect a payout account, Stripe collects identity and bank details such as your date of birth, part of your Social Security number, and bank account. Baby Forward does not receive or store your full card number, bank account number, or Social Security number. Stripe's use of this information is covered by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
2. How we use your information
- Run the marketplace: show listings, connect buyers, sellers, renters, and owners, and deliver messages
- Process payments, payouts, deposits, refunds, and fees through Stripe
- Send transaction emails, such as purchase confirmations, pickup and return reminders, payout notices, and dispute updates
- Screen new listings against CPSC recall information
- Review disputes and decide how held funds are released
- Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and keep the site secure
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax and payment records
We may email you occasionally about Baby Forward itself. You can ask us to stop at any time. Transaction emails are part of using the site and can't be turned off while you have open transactions.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run Baby Forward. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:

- With other users as described in section 4
- For legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect users, the public, or Baby Forward from fraud or harm
- If the business changes hands, as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of Baby Forward's assets, under this policy
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
4. What other users can see
- Anyone visiting the site can see your listings (photos, descriptions, prices, condition, general area), your display name in a shortened form, and reviews of you.
- The other person in a transaction can see your messages to them and the pickup or return details you arrange.
- Your email address, full name, and payment details are not shown to other users.
Photos you upload may show your home or belongings. Avoid including children's faces, names, house numbers, or other details you don't want public.
5. Cookies
Baby Forward uses cookies only to keep you signed in and to make the site work. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed and how they found us. We do not use advertising cookies or use analytics data for advertising. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages to process payments and prevent fraud.
6. Children's privacy
Baby Forward is for adults buying and selling items for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has created an account or that a listing contains a child's personal information, we will remove it.
7. Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can edit your profile and delete your listings at any time.
To close your account or request a copy or deletion of your information, email us at the address below. We will delete or anonymize your information within 30 days, except records we must keep:
- Transaction, payment, and payout records, kept for tax and legal purposes (typically up to 7 years)
- Messages and records tied to an open dispute, until it is resolved
- Information needed to prevent fraud or enforce our Terms
Messages you sent to other users may remain visible in their conversation history.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and access controls so users can see only their own private data. Payment details are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on the site with a new effective date, and email you about significant changes.
